Hari ini... hal ini terdetik dalam hati setelah mendengar cerita kawan saya. Dia menceritakan tentang seorang lagi kawan yang tak habis-habis nak mencungkil pasal saya... hmmm...saya perlu lebih untuk berhati-hati dengan sesetengah orang yang bergelar 'kawan'. I'm a little bit upset tapi firman Tuhan dibawah menegur saya betapa pentingnya menjaga lidah kita.

Tadi Pagi ketika saya sedang mendengarkan Firman Tuhan dari radio. Pembawa Firman sedang mengajarkan tentang betapa pentingnya atau berkuasanya lidah manusia. Saya menemukan banyak ayat dalam alkitab khususnya perjanjian baru yang berbicara tentang lidah. Diantaranya :

Yak 3 : 5-6

“Demikian juga lidah, walaupun suatu anggota kecil dari tubuh, namun dapat memegahkan perkara-perkara yang besar.

Lidahpun adalah api ; ia merupakan suatu dunia kejahatan dan mengambil tempat di antara anggota-anggota tubuh kita sebagai sesuatu yang dapat menodai seluruh tubuh dan menyalakan roda kehidupan kita, sedang ia sendiri dinyalakan oleh api neraka……dst”

Coba kita renungkan berapa kali dalam 1 hari kita telah menggunakan lidah bibir kita dengan benar? Saya pribadi mengakui bahwa sulit sekali mengendalikan lidah dari perkataan yang sia-sia seperti gosip tentang orang lain yang belum tahu kebenarannya, perkataan yang tidak baik tentang usaha atau pekerjaan, perkataan sombong merasa diri lebih pintar dari orang lain. Dan masih banyak lagi yang kadang tanpa saya sadari sering saya ucapkan.

Pagi ini saya mengajak teman-teman sekalian jika ada diantara anda yang seperti saya, mari kita bertobat dan kembali meluruskan perkataan kita dengan hal-hal yang baik dan memberkati. Minta Tuhan kirimkan malaikatNya untuk berjaga di pintu gerbang mului kita untuk memperingatkan kita atau menahan setiap perkataan jelek dan tidak baik yang akan keluar. Dan mari nikmati berkat Tuhan yang telah disediakan bagi kita semua.

Bukan air yang ia takutkan, tetapi bunyi guruh atau kilat. Dia memang sensitif terhadap bunyi-bunyian yang keras. Jika bunyi guruh saja takut, apalagi petasan. Setiap menjelang perayaan hari besar kami pun repot karenanya. Sementara anjing yang satu lagi justru sebaliknya. Tidak sedikitpun punya rasa takut. Pintu terbuka sedikit ia akan segera lari keluar. Dia tidak menyadari sama sekali bahwa berbagai bahaya mengintainya apabila ia berada diluar pengawasan. Kedua sifat ini bertolak belakang, tetapi keduanya tidak baik. Yang satu ketakutan berlebihan, yang satu berani berlebihan. Apa yang baik adalah berada ditengah-tengah. Tidak takut tetapi tidak pula nekad. Tetapi ingatlah bahwa itu hanya bisa kita lakukan dengan nyaman jika kita mengetahui rencana Tuhan dalam hidup kita.

Ada banyak orang yang belum mengetahui apa yang menjadi rencana Tuhan dalam hidup mereka. Akibatnya kerap mereka melakukan keputusan-keputusan yang keliru, tergesa-gesa dalam melangkah dan akibatnya merugikan. Di sisi lain ada banyak pula yang tidak kunjung berani mengambil keputusan apapun karena selalu dicekam rasa takut. Mengetahui rencana Tuhan akan membuat kita bisa melangkah dengan berani dan penuh keyakinan selama disertai dengan iman yang teguh.

Apa yang direncanakan Tuhan pada kita? Segala sesuatu yang indah, penuh harapan. Lihatlah ayat berikut ini berbicara sangat jelas akan hal tersebut. "Sebab Aku ini mengetahui rancangan-rancangan apa yang ada pada-Ku mengenai kamu, demikianlah firman TUHAN, yaitu rancangan damai sejahtera dan bukan rancangan kecelakaan, untuk memberikan kepadamu hari depan yang penuh harapan." (Yeremia 29:11) Lihatlah apa yang disediakan Tuhan sesungguhnya begitu luar biasa indahnya. It even contains a promise of better future. Betapa sayangnya apabila kita melewatkan rancangan yang terbaik ini dalam perjalanan hidup kita.

Bagaimana agar kita bisa mengetahui rancangan Tuhan terhadap kita? Mari kita lihat ayat selanjutnya. "Dan apabila kamu berseru dan datang untuk berdoa kepada-Ku, maka Aku akan mendengarkan kamu." (ay 12). Berdoalah, dan mintalah kepada Tuhan untuk menunjukkan apa yang menjadi rencanaNya bagi kita. Tuhan akan selalu mendengarkan kita, itu janji Tuhan. Lalu selanjutnya "apabila kamu mencari Aku, kamu akan menemukan Aku; apabila kamu menanyakan Aku dengan segenap hati, Aku akan memberi kamu menemukan Aku, demikianlah firman TUHAN." (ay 13-14a). Tuhan tidak pernah mau menjauhkan diri dari kita. Dia akan selalu terbuka untuk ditemui, kapan saja, dimana saja. Apa yang bisa membuat Tuhan memalingkan muka dari kita adalah kejahatan dan dosa-dosa yang kita lakukan. (Yesaya 59:2). Jika kita sudah membereskan semua ganjalan itu maka Tuhan pun akan kembali bisa kita temukan. Kita bisa setiap saat bertanya kepadaNya apa yang menjadi rencanaNya bagi kita, apa yang harus kita lakukan, dan meminta hikmat untuk menerangi akal pikiran kita untuk bisa mengetahui rancanganNya.

Selanjutnya mari kita lihat ayat berikut ini: "Kita tahu sekarang, bahwa Allah turut bekerja dalam segala sesuatu untuk mendatangkan kebaikan bagi mereka yang mengasihi Dia, yaitu bagi mereka yang terpanggil sesuai dengan rencana Allah." (Roma 8:28) Allah akan selalu turut bekerja dalam segala sesuatu yang mendatangkan kebaikan bagi kita, orang-orang yang mengasihi Dia, yang berjalan sesuai dengan rencana Allah. Itu sebuah janji akan penyertaanNya dalam penggenapan rencana Tuhan dalam hidup kita. Ketika kita sudah mengetahui apa yang menjadi rencanaNya, kita bisa melakukan yang terbaik untuk itu, dan selalu mempersembahkan ucapan syukur kita. Disanalah kita tidak lagi perlu takut menghadapi rintangan apapun. Mengapa harus takut? Bukankah kita seturut rencanaNya dan berjalan melintasi itu bersama dengan Tuhan? Dan disanalah kita akan mengalami hal-hal yang luar biasa yang telah Dia sediakan sejak semula. We can experience the impossible, we can have the unthinkable, simply because we are walking as He has planned. We can go boldly with Him without fear no matter what lies ahead.

Kepada setiap anak-anakNya Tuhan sudah menyediakan rancangan damai sejahtera yang sangat indah lengkap dengan hari depan yang penuh harapan. Adalah penting bagi kita untuk menangkap apa yang menjadi rencanaNya, dan berjalanlah di dalamnya. Tuailah semua yang dirancangkan Tuhan pada diri anda dan jadilah orang yang sukses. Menjadi kepala dan bukan ekor, tetap naik dan bukan turun. (Ulangan 28:13). Ketika anda melakukan hal ini, anda akan mengalami kemenangan demi kemenangan, bahkan yang tidak terpikirkan sebelumnya oleh anda sekalipun. Apapun yang menjadi bagian anda, lakukanlah dengan sungguh-sungguh. Anda tidak akan perlu diliputi rasa takut lagi meski ketika berhadapan dengan kesulitan sebesar apapun. Sudahkah anda menemukan rencanaNya dalam hidup anda? Find His will, and walk with Him towards it.

Menemukan rencana Tuhan dan berjalan seturut itu akan membuat kita mampu berjalan tanpa rasa takut.

Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

Hallelujah!!! As the clock strikes at 12midnight on 21st May 2010, I'm officially 32. Proudly telling the world that I'm 32 years old. :D

I thank God for blessing me with good life, wonderful family, friends and people around me, good health and.....the list goes on and on.....(uncountable blessing). Sadly, my beloved hubby is not around with me on my special day but i understand that he is in Brunei due to job requirement. How i wish he was here with me.

My wishes on my birthday:

May all my prayers and dreams come true this year ;) . I pray and wish for a better life, better health, better....better....hehehe

Then, a year wiser, a year prettier, a year cuter hahaha....

This morning, i tengah syok buat story telling dalam kelas Tahun 1C cerita "The Gingerbread Man".

Tiba2 seorang budak A menjerit kecil "Teacher, ada aedes, ada aedes!!" sambil pointing to my cheek. I pun wonder apa yang aedes aedes ni? The boy suruh saya pukul pipi....owh, rupa-rupanya nyamuk! hahaha...i laughed loudly dalam kelas. Budak A itu tersipu2 malu...I said bukan aedes tapi nyamuk.

So i asked him back, apa nyamuk dalam Bahasa Inggeris. Sorang budak pulak menjawab...."Lalat" hahaha.... ketawa lagilah kami sekelas. :D

Balik semula ke cerita "The Gingerbread Man"...i tanya murid why The Gingerbread Man cannot cross the river? Budak A tadi jawab "sebab dia lempong" hihihi.... dia guna Iban word...lempong means lembut. hahaha... lawaknya...

Lawas Trip 2010

Shalom! We went for 4-days trip to Lawas last school holiday. It was on 18th-21st March 2010. There were 10 of us from Shah Alam & Miri inclusive 1 person from Lawas itself. We had an awesome journey and blessed ministry there. Enjoy those pics below....

we reached Lawas safely on that twin otter.
Then, we went straight to Long Sukang where we planned to be.

This is our friend's house Sis Deborah. We stayed here for a night then the following day we moved to Pastor's house for another 2nights and 3days.

Frankly speaking, we were amazed by their great hospitality. 4/5
This was taken on the first church service at night. They welcomed us with a long queue and an angklung team.

Long Sukang has a big and beautiful church. This is the new building while the old building had been turned into a community hall which located next to this new building.

Well, this is the old church building. we had our meal here for 4 days.
Long Sukang has a great cook as well. hehehe... why? because all the food were irresistible. we had fun eating...eating....and eating....
i'm gonna miss their chili most. :(

Why are we so bored when we read a Christian magazine, but find it easy to look at a magazine of people? Why is it so easy to ignore a Godly message, yet we forward the useless ones? Why are churches getting smaller, but bars and clubs are growing?

This post show how fruit season happened in Miri since August / September.... .and now its getting fewer.

Below is buah dabai. My friends Kavita asked me how dabai look like?
So here you can see what dabai is.
It is black in colour with yellowish top. It shows that its delicious (my opinion la..)
I bought this for RM10 per kg.

How to cook dabai?
Wash thoroughly then soak in luke warm water.
Wait till the dabai gets soft.
After few mins pour out water.
Mix it with salt or kicap manis. Well, i prefer with kicap manis.

King of fruits, Durian....sllrrrrrrrpppp my favourite

Last 2 weeks, we went back kampung.
During fruit season, its the right time to pesta makan buah.
This is buah avung (in Kayan) in BM i dunno how to call this buah. hahaha...

Rambutan...my fave too.

Today, i was touched by the word of God preached by Rev. Johnny Pabia from the Philippine. His topic was on TEMPTATION. I went home and found these beautiful sharing.

If you're struggling with temptation in your life, take some encouragement from these verses and pray the prayer below, asking the Lord to help you deal with the temptations you face each day.

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

You know the temptations that I am facing today. But your Word promises that I will not be tempted beyond what I can bear. Please, Lord, give me the wisdom to walk away when I am tempted, and the clarity to see the way out that you will provide. Thank you, God, that you are a faithful deliverer and that I can count on your help in my time of need.

Today, after their exam, i spent one hour in my own class 2 Dedikasi. I didn't know how to spend that 1 hour.... thinking

Tuhan bisa memakai seseorang yang tidak disangka-sangka, melampaui akal budi kita untuk melakukan sesuatu untuk menyelamatkan dan menyertai anak-anakNya. Demikian Tuhan menciptakan kita semua, pada tempat dan waktu masing-masing, demikian pula ketika kita saat ini ditempatkan di berbagai belahan bumi yang berbeda. Bukan kebetulan, bukan tanpa tujuan. Tuhan meletakkan kita di sebuah generasi tertentu, dan menempatkan kita di sebuah tempat tertentu, pada waktu tertentu sesuai dengan rencanaNya bagi hidup kita. Apa yang Dia rencanakan adalah sesuatu yang indah bagi kita.

Life is never a mistake nor is a coincidence.
Anda begitu berharga di mata Tuhan, dan Tuhan sungguh mengasihi Anda. Semua ada dalam rencana Tuhan yang menjanjikan segala sesuatu yang indah penuh harapan. Tuhan memanggil kita masing-masing untuk menjadi anak-anakNya yang mencerminkan diriNya dimanapun kita berada. Apakah di sekolah, pekerjaan, keluarga, lingkungan dan sebagainya, dimanapun kita ditempatkan, kita harus siap untuk menjadi berkat bagi mereka, dimana nama Tuhan dipermuliakan.

Tidak satupun rencanaNya yang akan gagal. Maka ikutilah rencanaNya, meski mungkin pada saat-saat tertentu tampaknya berat. Namun pada akhirnya, yang dijanjikan Tuhan adalah rancangan damai sejahtera yang memberikan hari depan penuh harapan. Kerananya, berdirilah tegak, bersyukurlah sebagai ciptaan yang ajaib dan dahsyat, dan hiduplah menjadi terang dan garam pada masa dan tempat dimana anda ditempatkan saat ini.

Thank God For The Technology

Shalom! Last Saturday, my hubby & i went to Sibu for his job purpose. We drove from Miri at 11.20a.m and reach Bintulu at 1 p.m. Then off to Sibu at 2 p.m. The next Sunday, we drove back to Miri safely. Thank God for the safe journey.

What i would like to share is, before departed from Miri, we prayed together for God's guidance especially on the road. My hubby know nothing about Sibu road, while myself knew about 20% of Sibu road.

We drove slowly as we were afraid to miss any of the junction. With little knowledge i showed him the direction.

Surprisingly, we managed to get to our destination without refering to any maps. Hey!!! God is good all the time!

We stayed overnight at my hubby's uncle place. After hours,only then we realised my hubby got his office's BlackBerry handphone. He quickly browsed for GPS online but couldn't find. Finally he downloaded Google Maps. The next day back to Miri we managed to find way out from Sibu city to Sibu-Bintulu road easily.

Halleluyah! HE made our journey easy and safe!

Thank God for the technology! Praise the Lord!

Andrea Mujan & Her Sape'

This is my cousin, Andrea Mujan. She plays Kayan traditional music called sape' during one of our family gathering at their house.
She can play it very well though she just got the sape' few weeks ago. My uncle bought the sape' specially for her... My first expression saw her playing was..... WOw!!!! becoz very rare to see young girl like her can play sape'. Go girl go!!!

Today....
i woke up at 5 a.m.
i knew its my Dad's 11th anniversary.
i didn't realize how time flies....
i text my brothers and sisters to pray for his soul....
i knew he's smiling and happy in Heaven
and now.....................
i miss my dad very much :(
i miss his jokes, smile and everything about my beloved father
i miss his hug & kisses :(
he is simply the best father!
i prayed so we could meet THERE!

Today.....
i received my housing loan letter
its approved! Hallelujah!!!
i know our house is still under construction and will be ready by middle of next year
its just a small and simple house
we knew God gave us the house
because He knows our needs best
i & my hubby visited the site almost every weekend :)
i am happy.....
my hubby also happy....
its all by grace of the Lord
Thank you Lord Jesus!
we can't wait to have our own house as others do
so we can plant flowers & trees as many as we could :)

Karakter Terhormat

Ayat bacaan: Rut 3:11

"Oleh sebab itu, anakku, janganlah takut; segala yang kaukatakan itu akan kulakukan kepadamu; sebab setiap orang dalam kota kami tahu, bahwa engkau seorang perempuan baik-baik."

Gajah mati meninggalkan gading, harimau mati meninggalkan belang. Itulah kata sebuah pepatah yang mungkin sudah jarang diingat orang hari ini. Ada yang melanjutkan pepatah itu dengan "manusia mati meninggalkan nama". Seperti apa kita saat ini dan terutama nantinya dikenang orang? Apakah kita dikenal dengan kebaikan kita, kerendahan hati, keramahan, atau kita dikenal sebagai orang yang sombong, egois dan sebagainya. Apakah kekayaan membuat kita semakin mengasihi Tuhan dan sesama, atau malah menjauhkan kita dariNya? Apakah segala berkat yang kita dapatkan sudah kita pakai untuk memberkati orang lain atau hanya ditimbun dan ditumpuk untuk kekayaan diri sendiri? Semua itu menentukan apakah kita tercatat dengan tinta emas baik di mata sesama kita manusia dan tentunya Tuhan. Gelar, status dan harta kekayaan kita saat ini tidak serta merta menjamin kita menjadi seseorang yang terhormat dan dikenang orang dari masa ke masa. Bahkan tidak berarti dengan itu semua kita menjadi orang-orang yang dikenal Tuhan secara pribadi. Rasanya tidak ada orang yang tidak ingin menjadi sosok berkarakter terhormat yang masih diingat orang bahkan jauh setelah kita tidak lagi ada di dunia ini. Hari ini mari kita melihat sisi seorang wanita dengan karakter terhormat, Rut.

Rut terlahir sebagai wanita bangsa Moab, sebuah bangsa yang jauh dari Tuhan dan menyembah berhala. Pernikahannya dengan anak Naomi membawanya untuk mengenal sosok Tuhan. Ketika bencana terjadi, Rut kehilangan suaminya sehingga hanya ia yang tinggal bersama mertuanya Naomi dan iparnya Orpa. Ketika Naomi memilih untuk pulang ke tanah airnya, Orpa memilih untuk pulang kepada orang tuanya di Moab. Sementara Rut memutuskan untuk tetap setia, baik kepada mertuanya maupun kepada Tuhan yang sekarang ia sembah. "Tetapi kata Rut: "Janganlah desak aku meninggalkan engkau dan pulang dengan tidak mengikuti engkau; sebab ke mana engkau pergi, ke situ jugalah aku pergi, dan di mana engkau bermalam, di situ jugalah aku bermalam: bangsamulah bangsaku dan Allahmulah Allahku; di mana engkau mati, akupun mati di sana, dan di sanalah aku dikuburkan. Beginilah kiranya TUHAN menghukum aku, bahkan lebih lagi dari pada itu, jikalau sesuatu apapun memisahkan aku dari engkau, selain dari pada maut!" (Rut 1:16-17).

Hidup di tanah orang lain yang tidak menganggap bangsa Moab sebagai bangsa yang terhormat tanpa modal apa-apa, tanpa kenal siapapun selain mertuanya Naomi. Sementara jika ia memilih untuk pulang, ia bisa mendapatkan kembali hidup tak berkekurangan. Ini tentu sebuah pilihan sulit bagi Rut. Tapi dengan tegas Rut memutuskan untuk mengikuti Naomi. Sekali lagi, Rut memilih untuk setia dan tetap mengasihi mertuanya dan Tuhan yang sekarang ia sembah.

Pilihan seperti ini merupakan sebuah langkah iman. Rut percaya ada rencana Tuhan di depan walaupun ia belum melihatnya. Dan apa yang terjadi sungguh indah. Rut kemudian bertemu dengan Boas. Ternyata karakter Rut bersinar terang di Betlehem. Karakternya yang bersinar dan terhormat tidak saja diakui oleh Boas, namun ternyata diakui oleh semua orang di kota tempat tinggalnya yang baru. Meski dia berasal dari Moab, ternyata karakternya mendatangkan kekaguman dari penduduk disana. Boas pun berkata demikian: "Oleh sebab itu, anakku, janganlah takut; segala yang kaukatakan itu akan kulakukan kepadamu; sebab setiap orang dalam kota kami tahu, bahwa engkau seorang perempuan baik-baik." (Rut 3:11). Dalam versi BIS, karakter Rut disebutkan sebagai "wanita yang baik budi". Pernikahan Rut dan Boas pun terjadi, dan hidupnya dipulihkan secara luar biasa. Langkah iman Rut membawanya pada berkat-berkat Tuhan yang terus mengalir dalam hidupnya. Kita tahu dari keturunan-keturunan Rut dan Boas kemudian lahirlah Daud hingga kemudian Yesus Kristus. Luar biasa.

Latar belakang masa lalu, harta, status dan kehebatan manusia tidaklah cukup kuat untuk membuat kita kepada sebuah karakter terhormat. Rut mendapatkannya dengan kesetiaan kepada Allah. Langkah imannya yang teguh kepada Allah yang belum lama ia kenal membuat dirinya hidup penuh pengharapan, tidak bersungut-sungut, rendah hati dan berbudi pekerti. Dan itu semua membuatnya menjadi sosok wanita terhormat yang diakui oleh orang lain, bahkan berkenan pada Tuhan sehingga lewat dirinyalah Sang Penebus lahir di dunia ini. Hidup ini tidaklah mudah. Setiap saat ada banyak keinginan yang bisa menjerumuskan kita kepada kemerosotan moral hingga berujung pada dosa. Ada begitu banyak penderitaan yang mungkin saat ini belum terlihat jalan keluarnya. Tapi kita diingatkan untuk tidak bersandar pada kekuatan diri sendiri, melainkan bergantunglah pada Allah dengan pengharapan tanpa henti. (2 Korintus 1:8-9).

Mata Tuhan tetap melihat segala yang kita lakukan, dan Dia selalu lebih dari siap untuk melimpahkan berkat kepada siapapun yang selalu taat dengan sungguh-sungguh kepadaNya. "Karena mata TUHAN menjelajah seluruh bumi untuk melimpahkan kekuatan-Nya kepada mereka yang bersungguh hati terhadap Dia." (2 Tawarikh 16:9a). Langkah iman yang teguh tidak akan pernah sia-sia. Karena itu kita tidak perlu gemetar dan khawatir menghadapi masa depan, tidak perlu terjebak pada keinginan menimbun harta lewat jalan-jalan yang tidak berkenan di hadapan Tuhan, karena tanpa itu semua pun kita mampu hidup dengan penuh kecukupan, karena Tuhan adalah Allah yang menyediakan. Karakter terhormat akan hadir jika kita mengenal Tuhan dengan baik, percaya kepadaNya dengan sungguh-sungguh, dan hidup dengan iman yang teguh kepadaNya. Terang Tuhan akan terpancar lewat kita jika kita mengijinkanNya hidup di dalam kita, dan kita hidup di dalamNya.

Yesus mengingatkan demikian: "Tetapi carilah dahulu Kerajaan Allah dan kebenarannya, maka semuanya itu akan ditambahkan kepadamu. Sebab itu janganlah kamu kuatir akan hari besok, karena hari besok mempunyai kesusahannya sendiri. Kesusahan sehari cukuplah untuk sehari." (Matius 6:33-34). Hal ini telah dilakukan Rut jauh sebelumnya, dan Rut telah membuktikan bahwa janji Tuhan itu bukanlah omong kosong. Lewat kisah Rut hari ini, marilah kita memiliki pribadi dengan karakter terhormat meski mungkin hidup terasa masih sulit hari ini. Percayalah bahwa Tuhan siap menambahkan segalanya kepada kita.

Langkah iman tidak akan pernah sia-sia, karenanya hiduplah selalu sesuai firman Tuhan

Why I love May? hehehe.... because I was born in May. :) so many things happens in May.... one of them is....... my birthday!!!!

I would like to share my simple yet sweet birthday celebration at home.
In fact, midnite of 21st May 2009, i was surprised by my hubby and 2 bro in-laws with their surprise birthday cake & song. it was sweet. i seldom got surprised on my birthday! thanks everyone. :)

Shalom! I would like to share a true story which happens to me. I experienced this 2 weeks before school holiday (May 2009).

One morning, as usual I entered my class at 8.50a.m. After done with pre-class work, I sat at teacher's place. As I wrote my lesson plan of the day (biasalah lambat buat lesson plan), I saw something flew next to my class’ window. I saw with my ekor mata. It was in plain white… at first I just ignored. I remembered it was at 9.30a.m.

I looked around if somebody was running outside the window. (tak logik if ada budak berani jalan diluar). Then, I saw two of my pupils who sat next to the window looked anxiously outside the same direction. They looked pale. Other pupils didn’t notice what we had experienced because they were busy with their homework.

Then, I called them to my table. I asked them one by one what have they seen. The two boys said, they saw a ‘lady’ in a white long dress, white long hair with red face and red eyes flew outside our classroom's window. The moment they said it, I could feel bulu roma meremang. Ewwww…spooky!!! Then i knew it was evil spirit.

Thank God! GOD reminded me something. “Be strong and pray for the children”. I didn’t get panicked. I quickly called the two boys and pray for them. I didn’t want something bad happen to them (example: hysteria or trauma). I whispered to them not to spread the incident. During break, I shared my story with my close friends only. I didn't want the story spread all over the school.

Seeing is believing. I believe God will always protect me and everyone in the school. I pray that God will always protect the school too.

Recently, during our cell group, I shared this story. Our cell group leader said, “God wants you to be the salt and the light among others. Be strong!” She added, “if possible call all Christian teachers to get together and pray everyday/ every week.”

Friends, I know that’s such a big responsibility, but please pray so it could be possible. Besides that, I wish to start an ISCF (Inter-School Christian Fellowship) in the school. Anyone can help on how to start an ISCF?

The peak of our Teacher's Day was a dinner. Our Teacher's Day Dinner took place on 23 May 2009. It was held @ Dynasty Hotel. The theme of the nite was White & Purple. It's really beautiful when everyone came in their white & purple attire. :) The dinner was fun! We had karaoke, exchange gift among teachers, lucky draw, poco2 & agogo. Most of the teachers were very sporting by dancing, singing and so on.

Hi! Here are pix taken during our teacher's day celebrated on22nd May 2009 (Friday). As a coordinator, I came early to school to ensure everything is ready for the function.

Let me tell u something! I know myself very well. Initially, i was lack of confidence when i was given this task as the coordinator. Then, during one of our cell group i asked our cell group members to pray over me & my team. I asked for wisdom & God's guidance to handle this event.

Hallelujah!!! God answered our prayers! I could say, the event went smoothly as planned. I didn't feel stress at all except lack of sleep & tired. I don't think i could do all these without HIS presence. All for the glory of the Lord!

Inner Beauty

"Perhiasanmu janganlah secara lahiriah, yaitu dengan mengepang-ngepang rambut, memakai perhiasan emas atau dengan mengenakan pakaian yang indah-indah, tetapi perhiasanmu ialah manusia batiniah yang tersembunyi dengan perhiasan yang tidak binasa yang berasal dari roh yang lemah lembut dan tenteram, yang sangat berharga di mata Allah."

Tidak ada yang salah untuk menjaga penampilan. Tampil trendy dan menawan itu hak semua orang, tidak peduli jenis jantinanya. Itu benar. Yang salah adalah ketika kita melakukannya secara berlebihan, sehingga melupakan aspek-aspek lain.

Tidak jarang mereka yang terseret gaya hidup metropolitan seperti ini harus mengeluarkan dana jauh di atas kemampuan atau pendapatan mereka. Di saat seperti inilah bayang-bayang dosa mulai mengintip. Takut dianggap tidak gaul, tidak tahu mode, takut dianggap kurang sempurna, ada banyak orang yang akhirnya rela melakukan apapun asal mereka bisa tampil maksimal.

Di sisi lain, ada banyak yang melupakan tugas dan tanggungjawabnya karena terlalu sibuk mematut diri. Lupa mengurus keluarga, lupa pekerjaan, bahkan lupa untuk terus setia membangun hubungan dengan Tuhan. Terlalu sibuk berdandan sehingga selalu terlambat beribadah, lupa menyediakan waktu buat keluarga sehingga anak-anak dan pasangan menjadi terlantar? Itu semua bisa terjadi jika seseorang fokus berlebihan pada penampilan luarnya. Disamping itu, Terlalu peduli secara berlebihan pada penampilan fisik bisa menumbuhkan perasaan bangga berlebihan lalu mulai meremehkan orang lain atau malah Tuhan.

Ada yang jauh lebih penting dari apa yang tampak dari luar. Alkitab mengatakan bahwa segala perhiasan dan keindahan secara lahiriah satu saat akan habis. Segala sesuatu mengenai keindahan yang tampak dari luar tidaklah kekal. Tapi yang kekal, tidak akan binasa, adalah apa yang ada di dalam diri kita.

Tuhan sendiri tidak peduli dengan penampilan luar. Apa yang dilihat Tuhan tidak lain adalah hati. "Bukan yang dilihat manusia yang dilihat Allah; manusia melihat apa yang di depan mata, tetapi TUHAN melihat hati." (1 Samuel 16:7). Firman Allah juga menyebutkan "Jagalah hatimu dengan segala kewaspadaan, karena dari situlah terpancar kehidupan." (Amsal 4:23).

Janganlah jadikan keindahan lahiriah, apa yang tampak dari luar sebagai tujuan hidup yang terutama. Demikian firman Tuhan: "Tetapi engkau hai manusia Allah, jauhilah semuanya itu, kejarlah keadilan, ibadah, kesetiaan, kasih, kesabaran dan kelembutan." (1 Timotius 6:11). Adalah sia-sia mementingkan penampilan luar di atas keindahan dalam diri kita, karena hal itu tidaklah membawa manfaat apa-apa untuk sebuah keselamatan. Bukan orang yang luar biasa cantik atau ganteng, berpenampilan paling menawan yang diselamatkan, melainkan orang-orang yang terus menjaga keindahan hatinya, dipenuhi ucapan syukur dan terus menjadi berkat buat orang lain dalam nama Yesus. Ketika kita selalu ingin tampil mempesona dan menawan di mata orang lain, sudahkah kita memperhatikan keindahan dalam diri kita?

Good Friday yang lalu, kami balik ke kampung. Only 4 hours drive dari Miri, however memandangkan jalanraya yang 'kureng' maintenance membuatkan perjalanan kami agak lama.

1 minggu sebelum tu, saya seringkali diingatkan Tuhan untuk balik. Saya harus mengambil peluang sempena Good Friday ini untuk balik ke kampung merayakan Easter. Hati saya berbelah bagi pada mulanya, memandangkan gereja (dimana kami beribadah sekarang) juga akan mengadakan kebaktian selama 3 hari di Pavilion Hotel. Ini merupakan gabungan 3 gereja.

Tetapi Tuhan berbicara bahawa kami masih ada satu lagi tanggungjawab yang dipikul di kampung. Sebagai generasi muda kami harus melakukan sesuatu untuk gereja di kampung memandangkan selama 1 tahun ini gereja tidak ada pastor.

Lantas saya berbincang dengan suami saya. Then saya menghubungi kakak dan cousin saya tentang rencana ini. (Hanya mereka yang sempat saya hubungi). Syukur mereka semua bersetuju. Kami kemudian merancang semua hal2 yang harus dilakukan. Mulanya, uncle saya dicadangkan memberi khotbah tapi akhirnya kami terpaksa menggunakan plan B. Kakak saya mengambil alih tugas itu. Cousin saya Hunyang memimpin pujian sementara suami saya handle bahagian muzik.
Kami semua berdoa supaya Tuhan memberkati lawatan kami kali ini. Halleluyah! we were blessed by His grace. Misi kami hanya satu: To spread the Good News to our people .

Thank God! kehadiran kami disambut gembira oleh jemaat SIB Rh Belor Leodian. Mereka benar2 memerlukan sokongan terutama sekali bagi jemaat yang bekerja di bandar. Mereka mengalu-alukan kehadiran kami. Pesanan mereka semoga sokongan seperti ini akan berterusan.

This coming Good Friday, we plan 3 days 2 nights trip to our kampung to celebrate Easter Sunday with all our Leodian families. Our church at Rh. Belor Leodian, Sg. Asap didn't have Pastor since our Pastor transferred last December 2008. So, we felt its our responsibility to help our church on this matter. We come all the way from Miri with one message- to spread the Good News.... For the glory of our God!

Last weekend, Sunday 29 March 2009 we had family gathering at my sister's residence at Luak Bay.

We had BBQ prepared by my brother in-law. This time our food were quite special because my Uncle Ngo prepared Umai ( Melanau's traditional food), Auntie Hurey prepared laksa Sarawak and others brought few delicious food too.... fuh!!! sedap tak terkira..

Hope to see more of our family members turn up next time. By the end of April is our BIG family of Leodian 2nd Gathering . See u all there! God bless u & family!

Last week, i was on 1 week holiday.
After returned from Bintulu...the next day i had my PTK exam at SM Dato' Permaisuri. In fact, i wasn't well prepared for the exam. For paper 1, we were allowed to open book....guess what, the answers were not easy to find as all the questions sungguh mencabar minda.
No direct questions.
My prayer..... God, i want to pass this exam with flying colours. Amen!

Last weekend, i stayed overnight at my sis' house bcoz my hubby went to Bintulu.

My Visit To Bintulu

Hi friends, i have been away for quite a longgggggggg time :) Here my new updates.
This was during our trip to Bintulu last Saturday 14 March 2009 (during school holiday).

On the way to Bintulu via coastal road (Miri - Bintulu Highway).
The road was quite ok but a lil bit bumpy at certain area.

T-Junction. Left to Bintulu, right to Similajau. We went to the left for sure :)

On the first day, we stayed with my uncle at Signature Park.

While driving in Bintulu, i stopped by at my ex-school. SMK Bandar Bintulu.
huhuhu... rindunye dengan sekolah lama. I was here in 1994-1995.

On the second day, we stayed with another one of my uncles @ MLNG Housing.

There, we went to Millenium Park. Just nearby my uncle's house.
Its quite big & great place for jogging & exercise.

Jesus Is My Hope For Tomorrow

Courage To Change The Things We Can

God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference.

This is a very powerful statement and very good principles to live our life by, even if we don’t have a drinking problem. There are many things in our life, marriage, and our relationships that we would like to change, and we spend countless hours, and spend great amounts of energy trying to control and change people and circumstances.

Why are we doing this? Why can’t we just accept people for who they are and accept circumstances and outcomes how they happen? Why must we continually try and control what is obviously out of our power to change? Perhaps we aren’t asking God to help us with accepting some of the people we have relationships with. Maybe we have not put our faith in God to just let him control the outcome of circumstances. God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change.

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Perhaps we think we can control and manipulate our spouse, boss, friends and family. Maybe we think we can change them to be the people we think they should be for us. But all this does is cause strife and contention with the people were supposed to be loving and respecting. Have we prayed for God to give us the serenity to accept our spouse just the way he or she is? Or are we still leaning on our own understanding and wisdom?

Let’s ask God to give us the courage to change the things we can and accept people for who they are. Wouldn’t that be better? What are some of the things that we can change? We can change ourselves, and we can work at changing the outcomes of circumstances that we initiated. Anything else would be controlling, manipulating and abusing people to be what we think they should be.

Let’s pray for the courage to change what we can about ourselves; focus on changing the consequences of our actions by the spirit of courage given to us by God. All we have to do is ask. If we truly want to accept the things we cannot change we first must be willing to give up the control if it. We must acknowledge our Lord and place our faith in His promise for us and then we will be given the courage to change ourselves.

I thought, “Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.” But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty that gives them understanding.
Job 32: 7-8

Where does wisdom come from? Do you think wisdom is something we gain through the years or something we learn by just reading scripture? God says wisdom comes from the spirit within us. The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ gives us the wisdom and understanding to know the difference between what we can change and what we cannot change. We can read about wisdom but it is a gift from God given to those who put their faith and trust in Him. God gives us the wisdom to know the difference. Can I change my alcoholic spouse and control their drinking habits? Can I make my adult child be a doctor instead of an accountant? Can I make my friends do what I want? We can try to control and change people in this way, but what is the use if it causes contention, bitterness and strife between us? That is not of God. These are the things we cannot change.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

We must learn to acknowledge the things we cannot change so we can be free to love without control. For instance, we cannot make our alcoholic spouse stop drinking but we can change how we react to the alcoholic when they are drinking. We don’t have to enable him or her any longer; we can have the courage to change our behavior towards them. We cannot make our friends do whatever we want because that would be selfish and wrong. But we can ask God for the courage to change our feelings about the things we do with our friends.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Family Vacation To KK: Day 3

On 27th Jan. 2009 (Tuesday) we went to Manukan Island. I've been waiting for this moment. Everyone was excited.. i could see in their face including myself. :)
It only took 15 minutes from KK to Manukan Island. I could see KK town from Manukan as well. We paid RM 16 per pax for the trip (to and fro). Entrance fees to the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park is RM3 per pax. Its very reasonable price. Thank God for giving us such a beautiful sunny day.

Family Vacation To KK: Day 2

On the 2nd day in KK, we went to Kundasang as in our schedule. We departed from KK at 8am. My bro in-law led the way. There were 3 cars altogether in the trip. From far away, i could see the beautiful view of the Mount Kinabalu. We really love the fresh air and beautiful view on the way up.Mount Kinabalu the highest mountain in South East Asia

Family Vacation To KK: Day 1

Hi friends,

Here i would like to share our family vacation to Kota Kinabalu Sabah. In this trip, there are 4 families involved. My hubby & i tumpang my sister's car. My uncle & family drove from Miri too but they went a day earlier than us. While my sister Ernie & family drove all the way from Labuan. We all gathered in KK.

We departed from Miri on 24th Jan. 2009 at 2pm. We had to queue up for 3 hours at Kuala Lurah Check Point.. letihnya tunggu turn.. i hate few cars who didn't queue up. Ikut suka hati saja potong garisan..

Syukur my sista have Brunei dollar because all transaction must be in Brunei dollar.

This is Kuala Lurah, Brunei imigration checkpoint.

We passed the border at 8pm. We planned to go direct to KK that nite, but we decided to stay overnight in Limbang since its too late to pass another 3 more checkpoints. The imigration closed at 10pm :p so mana sempat kan.

On 25th January 2009, we continued our journey to KK. Naik ferry untuk melintas sungai sebesar sekangkang kera is funny. Tak sempat tarik nafas, dah sampai seberang sungai. hehehe

We stopped at Mengkalap Lawas for passport checking and we had Lawas coffee for breakfast.

In KK, we (3 families) stayed at Marina Court Condominium, while my uncle and family stayed at Promenade Hotel. Just a block away from ours.

Dah sampai KK, dengan excitednya we all terus keluar jalan-jalan to 1 Borneo.

how r u guys doing? It's not complete if i don't post anything on our Leodian Family Day 2008. It was celebrated on 23rd Dec. 2008. Last year marked our 10th anniversary in Sg Asap. Holiday Season

I was on 1 and a half month holiday since 16 November 2008 till 4th January 2009. So many things happen within this time. But now, i would like to share my Christmas celebration in kampung. Here, i've spend so much time with family. Most of us meet once in a year and Christmas is the only time for us to gather. Therefore, its a must for me & family to go back to kampung...we miss each other.
On 22th Dec, we departed from Miri 5pm. On the way we met my brother & family at Batu Niah and rest for a cup of coffee. Later, we convoyed to Asap and reached kampung at 11pm. I was tired but excited to get home.
